Proposal:
For the production,
Joel and I are deciding on doing our documentary on cyberbullying and what
people’s views on it is. Our documentary will be an observational documentary because
the filmmaker is not seen and the whole documentary is based on the interviews
and their point of views on the concept. The genre of our documentary will be
educational because it is about bullying online and it can be seen as an
educational concept. For our target audience our primary audience would be
based around the ages of 12-18 because a lot of cyberbullying happens once a
teenager is able to access social media. It can also be targeted at a secondary
audience such as adults between 30+ due to how adults can help prevent
cyberbullying from happening to their own child. For our documentary, we hope
to achieve that people understand cyberbullying and to try to get the message
across of other people’s thoughts on cyberbullying and for others to think
before they do. For our documentary, we will not need to travel. We are
planning to do our documentary in college in a separate room in which has good
lighting. For the production we are using teens aged 18 and our media teacher
to get different inputs from each person. The one question that we asked each
person was ‘What are your thoughts on cyberbullying’ in which we asked each
candidate the question for their views on the subject. For this production, we
will not need any props or items for this due to how all of the people being
interviewed will be standing and we will be only talking about the situation
rather than using props for the production. We will also not need a budget due
to not needing to purchase anything.
